MCC HAPPENINGS
Here is a Quick Overview of our Monthly Calendar.  Click on any event for a
few details.  Also, scroll underneath the calendar for more details on current MCC Happenings and ways that you can connect and get involved!

Midlands Christian Church exists to honor God by connecting people to God, others, & service through a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.  We welcome you to Midlands Christian Church. We hope each of you experience our Purpose Statement when you worship with MCC.  We want to honor God–want to help connect you to God–want you to connect with others at MCC–want to connect you to service.  And, we want to do all this as you are growing in your relationship with Jesus Christ.

We hope you are reading your Bible, worshipping with MCC in-person or online, learning from our in-person and Zoom Bible studies, and joining with MCC in other fellowship gatherings.  We are here for you.

Our Prayer Ministry is definitely active, with Prayer Partners praying daily! If you want prayer, please contact us via email, phone, or text. We will pray for you. If you wish this shared with the Prayer Ministry, we will. If you are interested in joining the Prayer Ministry, please contact the church via email, phone, or text.

Our Children’s Ministry enjoys Kid’s Quest each week. Children up through 5th grade leave the Worship Center during the message time for an age-appropriate lesson time of their own.

Our Youth Ministry is gathering bi-weekly for study, praying, hanging out, playing games, and growing in our love of Christ TOGETHER!

Please keep praying for each other!

THE CONNECTION
NEW TIME 4 PM

The Connection is a time during the week that we gather together for Bible study, prayer, and fellowship on Wednesdays at 4 p.m.  We usually begin our evening Connecting over dessert as we catch up with each other about our week.  Then, we join in our study & prayer time.  We are connecting with each other, but more importantly we are connecting to God.  Talking with Him during prayer and hearing His Word to us during Bible Study.  Please join us!  We are currently in a new study, a video studyThe GREAT Morning Revolution

What does your morning routine look like? Do you hit the snooze button a few times? Or are you up before the alarm even goes off? Maybe your day begins with brushing your teeth and getting ready, or perhaps not much happens until you’ve had that first cup of coffee for your quiet time. And if you have children or pets, well—quiet time might not even be part of the equation! But what if your morning routine could become more than just habit—what if it could help you prayerfully center your day on God? Whether or not you consider yourself a morning person, imagine what it could look like to begin your day with God.

Join us for a video Bible study designed to help you change your day by changing the rhythm of your morning.  You’ll learn how the acronym GREAT—Gratitude, Reflect, Exalt, Ask, and Trust— can reframe your mindset and guide you into the joy that comes each morning through God’s presence.  Our Mid-week Bible Study, The Connection, will study this helpful series

You are invited to our MCC Christmas Caroling SUNDAY, December 14, at 5:15 p.m.  We will meet at church, go to Lexington Extended Care, entering the parking lot off of Maxie Road, the lot that also fronts Old Cherokee.  After the nursing home, we will travel to various homes for caroling.  We can have carpooling or self-driving, and everyone will be given the addresses of the homes to be visited. After caroling, we will grab food together for those who wish.  Come, join us in sharing Christmas joy and this fellowship time.

ANGEL TREE

Please donate toys by Sunday, December 14.  Each year, our church supports the Sandy Nyman Angel Tree.  The Cancer Ministry decided to support ALL the children in Prisma Children’s Hospital fighting cancer.  Since there are multiple children, we do NOT need just one of each of these gift suggestions because each child is free to choose ANY gift.  Therefore you may donate one toy, 10 different toys, or even multiples of the same.  Children undergo months and sometimes years of procedures, tests, and treatments.  They also give the children toys when they’re in the hospital for appointments—physical exams, treatments, and painful procedures such as spinal taps and bone marrow aspirations.  They also let children choose gifts on their birthdays. Below is a list we received of current high-priority needs.  The sign-up list is posted on the back wall of the Worship Center with estimated online costs.

A basket for donations for the homeless is located in the foyer under the appropriately labeled sign.  We update the church regularly on the needs of Samaritan’s Well.  The Helping the Homeless Team welcomes you to join in this service.  If you are interested, please contact the church office.

MOUNTAIN MISSION SCHOOL
Mountain Mission School is one of the missions we support.  We have an adult Bible class that collects money throughout the entire year, and we send this to them before Christmas. These funds help all the children who remain at the orphanage over the holidays to have extra funds for some fun activities.  We also send birthday cards to every child at the school, and we have individuals who are committed to praying for these children.  They pray for the children who have birthdays during the particular month that we are in.  If you would like to help the Mountain Mission School ministry, please contact the church.

LAVIE PREGNANCY CARE CENTER
MCC supports LaVie Pregnancy Care Center every month.  We have families who give monthly to LaVie.  For every $60 we donate, one ultrasound can be administered.  When the mothers-to-be are presented with their ultrasound and see a picture of their child, most choose to continue on with their pregnancies.  We also
support LaVie by donating a variety of gifts that will be useful to a new mom-strollers, carseats, etc.
We donated 12 car seats, then we had a tremendous baby shower for a pregnant LaVie
mom, then donated car seats again as that was a desperate need for LaVie.
Please join us in supporting these young mothers and their children.
